Beginners Classes...

puppy classes / beginners classes / further training

This is for dogs over 6 months of age. A number of our clients have rescue dogs and training is an integral part of rehabilitation for this animals. Other dogs may have attended classes as a puppy and have come for a refresher, whilst others may have had little or no training.

Some dogs have bad habits that can be assisted by training and we encourage people to be honest about the problems they are encountering. We do not ‘expel’ dogs with problems but we do need to know if there have been instances of aggression and we will generally require the dog to be muzzled for the safety of others.

Classes may not be suitable for some dogs that may be temperamentally unsuited to group work or have behaviour problems. In these cases a private visit may be appropriate – see other services

The 6 week Beginner course includes, walking on the lead, coming when called. Sitting, lying down and stand on command, ‘leave’, staying and the ‘settle’ exercise.

All dogs attending this class who are 11 months or less at the start are enrolled in the Kennel Club Good Citizen Puppy Foundation Scheme and tuition is given to achieve the set criteria within the 6 week course.
